i just bought the SSBC "Short Stop" brake kit for the wifes 95 Z28. i used this kit on another car and must says it's hard to beat in the bang for the buck department , comes with all four slotted rotors and a full set of z-rated carbon metallic pads. all for $300.90 shipped....

Very nice price. If I hadn't already done mine, I'd jump on it.

summitracing.com they sell this kit for 289.00 , then after processing and all that crap it's 300.90.... it's not as drastic of an improvement as what's on my SS , but it's not as expensive either... the swap i did on my car was more money , but alot better stopping power, i used the LS1 knuckles , calipers , and lines with some drilled and slotted rotors and z-rate pads, i am putting the matching parts on the rear Tuesday. my rotors are 1" larger than whats on my wife car. i did everything on mine for about $750 , compaired too 300 on hers. depends on what you want and how much you want to spend.

I'm not interested in expensive at this moment. Getting ready to park it and looking at an '81' vette or a '74' vette presently to stick my bucks into. I will probably order this stuff today. thanks.

Im really wanting new brakes. I cant stand those sorry ones us LT1 guys have. I think ima do a C5 swap in the front. Those look cool, but you said it helps a little. My car needs a MAJOR improvement before im happy with them. 1 piston LOL!

i did the LS1 brake conversion on my SS , two piston calipers , 12" rotors. big improvement over the stock parts...

I can believe it. I wish someone had taken our cars, and did a before and after brake test. Like 60-0 5 times in a row measuring the distance each time stock, then doing it with the new brakes. Id like to see the LS1 and C5 numbers in comparison.

from what i understand the LS1 Camaro and C5 front brakes are very similar. i think the rotor thickness and offset are about the only things different.

I think the C5 has 6 piston calipers aswel.. Ive heard the C5 brakes are almost identical to the "Bear Claw"

the front brakes on the C5 are very similar to the LS1 camaro's. here a pic from a C5 , the main difference is the caliper/rotors offest and the calipers have Corvette on them. here's a pic...

Time to go to the old airport for some autocross testing. It may stop better than your SS now:eek:

ohh no , mine has 12" drilled and slotted all around and two piston calipers , hers still has the single piston calipers , 11" slotted only rotors. don't get me wrong hers stops great now, but still no comparison to mine.
