Does anyone know where to get the blacked out headlights for a 2002 Camaro? I believe the Berger cars had them, but I can't remember. All I can seem to find are the black Halo lights, but I am looking for the ones that are OEM except for being black. I am not going to dare try using the oven to do it myself. Thanks guys!

VHT NIGHT SHADES is a unique transparent black tail light lens coating for creating that custom European styling. When applied to tail lights, fog lights or turning indicators, VHT NITE SHADES appears black until they are lit, then the natural red re-appears. Customize lenses for only a fraction of the cost of expensive conversion kits.

Application: Apply VHT NITE SHADES to the outside of the lens cover only. It is easier to remove cover from the vehicle before applying. VHT NITE SHADES is a transparent coating, apply in smooth, even strokes approximately 3 minutes apart. Apply thin coats until a desired darkness is achieved usually two or three coats is sufficient.
Clean surface with a window or glass cleaner. Shake can for one minute after the ball in the can begins to rattle. Hold can 12 inches away from the lens. Apply in a back and forth motion, be sure to spray past the lens so that the corners and ends are evenly covered. Immediately apply a 2nd coat in the opposite direction. Apply subsequent coats approximately 10 minutes apart usually two or three coats will achieve desired look. VHT NITE SHADES should be dry to the touch in about an hour and completely dry overnight. Do not reinstall until coating is completely dry.

Glen, that is not the way to go. It gives a flat look to the lights. I've seen it and am not impressed.

Kris you could always buy an extra set and split them open and have them painted

GTS makes a cover you can remove for night driving. no drilling either.

Don't spray them, you will hate yourself, Had the covers on another car and left them on at night, barely dodged a head on collision, it's hard to tell how close because the cover dims the lights.

I have the GTS smoke gray covers on my '02. They look good and protect the factory headlight assy from UV. They are somewhat difficult to install (very tight, force fit) but there is no attachment hardware needed. I leave them in since I very rarely drive car at night. I think taking them on and off on a regular basis would be a pain.... at least for me.

Sorry to burst the bubble but altering headlites and taillights is illegal in the state of Ga. according to a Ga State Patrol buddy of mine. They cant be covered in anyway . And before ya'll jump me it depends on the officer and his mood whether you get the ticket or not and i know alot of people get away with it but it mite be your turn for that award. Jeff

Guys, thanks for looking, but that isn't what I am looking for. These are painted black inside the OEM headlight housing. If you look at yours right now they are completely chrome on the inside. The ones I am talking about are black except for the round center parts that reflect light. I swear one of the special edition Camaros had them. I just don't remember if it was Tom Henry, Berger, GMMG, or what. A lot of the new cars have this feature. Check out the new Tahoes. Afterthoughtsauto.com had them at one point, but they aren't on the site now. Oh well....

you cant buy these from a retailer.....all the blacked out headlights (called whistler headlights) you see are just alterted stock healdights. you can either pay someone to do it, or do the oven thing (it might sound bad but if you know how to read and follow instuctions they will come out just like expected lol). i did it to my stockers and its super easy, just takes time taping the headlights. you can use spray paint too so its real cheap.

and about ordering a spare set to try this on.....lol OEM healdights for these cars are TWICE as much as the aftermarket halos. so, just follow the how-to's and do it yorself, you wont be dissappointed.

I'm a big fan of the Whistler mod on the LS1's. Found a pic to reference, the left headlight is stock...the right is modded.

It makes the headlight look darker without using covers that restrict light. Just in case you were interested. :)
