Ok so the front passenger side brake pad decided to break off and the calipers hugged the rotor, ate it up something fierce, you get the point...
So the driver's side took on the weight and duties of both sides and now the whole front has to be done; new rotors, calipers, brake pads, and labor!
Price: 445.00. So then i'm thinking of what we talked about with the higher performance rotors with the lines and grooves etc, so **** if i'm gonna pay all that much then what would be the difference in just paying extra for something better and will last WAAAY longer right?
New Price; 600.00-ish.
I can do all this myself but don't have the time and all the bills are coming out now so that allows for my car to just stay there till next week and they can just work around it till the new rotors come in cuz they had to be ordered. Pretty much paying for the conveniece of the situation. I think i'm getting a lil screwed on labor or something somewhere????
Question: Am I "THE IDIOT"???

Doesn't sound too bad. A set of Baer, Wilwood, SSBC, Brembo's or something along that line could easily run $1,000 for rotors, calipers and pads assuming you do it yourself.

That's not a bad price.

As with everything else, if you'd have done it at home with stocker parts, it would have cost half that. Problem is that if you had the time to do it yourself you might be inclinded to upgrade which would cost you way more since you would end up redoing the rears as well. ;) If you think of it that way, they just saved you money. :p

Coprunr did the upgrade on his and it was money well spent. Go ahead and price a set of Z rated pads like Hawks.
One of the many advantages of being in Southeast CamaroZ is that no matter what problem you have with your Camaro, you can post it up and chances are the members will know what to do about it and help as much as possible ( the way a car club should be ). We treat everyone equal here.

I love the tecnicians who try to "explain" why I need something (since I'm a graying woman in her mid fourties, I must need a translated explanation...). Then I blow them away with a detailed reiteration of what they described and ask them to verify the part is actually defective by describing simple checks. They need to go out in the bay and get the jack to lift their jaws back up. Once we get that out of the way, everything is good.
Knowledge is power. ;)

Way to go Sue!!! It sounds like $$$ is a problem so he dont have the $$$ to upgrade so go back stock and upgrade when you can. Take this from someone who just put in a new tranny, stall, headers and exaust on Zachs ride.
