Southeast CamaroZ Meeting: Northside Chapter 08-18-2007
The eighth 2007 meeting of the Northside Chapter was held at Chili’s at the Mall of Georgia on Saturday June 16. Later a six-vehicle caravan motored up to Canton to participate in the monthly Po Boys Canton car show. During the caravan, a recently restored excellent condition 1967 red Camaro joined our parade (I believe it was an SS, and possibly a SS/RS but not 100% sure).
Attending were: President Greg; Jim and Lynne; Tom; Bruce; Marcus and James Hyde (with his white 30th edition SS coupe).
Meeting topics included:
Dean provided small club stickers in a variety of colors for sale.
Bruce was on the lookout for new members to signup and volunteered to drive with Marcus to Gulf Shores, Ala to continue that quest.At Canton Show:
The temperature on the parking lot was 103 but no one fainted.
Several new members were actively recruited including Rick Kaiser and his son Matthew; their ride is a 02 SS 35th Limited Edition.
Mitchell and Alice in their 1977 yellow Z28 are possible future members.
Amy owns a 02 sunset orange Z28, and while her ride wasn’t at show, we hope she joins up. Amy and her two daughters Harmony and Danielle enjoyed the show.
Steve arrived in a ‘01 white SS ragtop and expressed interest in Southeast CamaroZ.
Doraville’s own Robocop (Officer Larry to civilians) showed up and joined the fun with his big time modified SS.
And speaking of navy blue Camaros, The Blue Beast himself, Ron, and his wife Cheryl (aka The Church Lady) arrived in their navy blue Camaro.
Nick (just call me Flawless) arrived in his triple black 2002 SS.
Discussion was held about a cruise to Amicalola Fall Sate Park for a meeting, park tour, and supper in October. More to follow. Stay tuned.
BIG NEWS: Bruce sold his 95 Z28!!Next Meeting: The Northside chapter will meet next at Chili’s, Mall of Georgia, 12 noon Saturday September 15. Your loyal reporter may be on Hilton Head Island soaking up the last of the summer rays on the 15th, so a literate ;) member is hereby requested to stand-in.
