Jeff, sorry about the troubles your having. I hope they can come to a suitable solution with you. That's what scares me about my car. I have regular insurance (not collector) and it is going to be valued around $6-$7K. If an accident happens and the airbag deploys, it'll technically be totalled (% of value).

You don't have to lose the car. it only looks superficial in the pictures. If they say it costs more to repair it than it's worth then see what's their best offer without totaling it out

Still waiting to hear from Matt. Expressed him all of his reciepts from all he has done to car to show to ins co.The body shop is a prefferd shop for this ins co. They do not want to total the car, they say is fixable and Matt has to much in car to total. Thats why i sent reciepts. Jeff :(:(

Not sure how it works with your specific situation.... but... one of the members of a club in NC (that I belonged to) had a similar sistuation. The insurance company "totaled" the car for its book value and the owner bought it back from the insurance company. End result was that after paying to buy it back and then getting it repaired he actually had money left over from the check he received for the 'total'.

I imagine that would equate to a "salvage" title, which could be a problem to insure.

It would be a salvage title and getting it changed is a b#$ch. You have to take it to get insp. and you have to haul it Not Drive it !!!!!!! So Sue is right on it>
