Friday nite Coprunr and I met up at the dragway. Here's a pic of him and I in the staging lanes, and a few of my 1st ever pass in the '77. Didn't have time to get my slicks mounted so I was on the Hoosier round track tires. The 1st pass was on 93 octane cause I didn't drain the fuel lines out, just the cell, before I added the 114 octane. It spun a little out the hole and ran a 8.509@81.2mph with a 1.89 60'. The 2nd gen I ran did a 10.311@66.75. With race fuel in the carb now the 2nd pass blew the tires off, 60' dropped to a 2.23, ran a 8.842 and picked up 1.4mph at the top end @ 82.6mph.

mine didn't run anything close to it's best because the engine and hood were very hot.outlaw's car sounds killer. i hope he can get some power to the track and post up some low 8's maybe high 7's.next time we will have to make sure we can get a run together and get some good pics of our cars side by side. i had to leave early so i could do some "other" racing in Athens. my fiance wants to come next time and bring her car out to see what it will do.

I tried to get it up on the converter on the 2nd pass and it pushed into deep stage, so the extra mph was from an idle on deep also. I think with the slicks on and a linelock it's got teens or 0's in it. The taller tire should help out also, was twisting 6700rpm thru the lights:D If all goes well I want to go agian this friday.I'll go down and tell the track official that we want to run each other so we can get some good pics.

i'm not suer if i can make it this weekend at all. my other half has a wedding to go to so i have to watch my boys Friday night. and i think we are suposed to do something for our wedding Sunday. i'll check back in later on in the week about it and let you know something for sure.

I didn't know about em either til we got back from the run. I would like to get a vid of some passes, my camera does it but it will have to be light outside. I may not go out til sunday, so I can have my car ready for the club meeting saturday. I got to work so I won't have time to change over tires, wash, etc.

Well the way I look at it is why have alot of HP and not use it. Around here the 1st thing people want to know is how much HP, 2nd is a track time. To get your ride out on the track and make passes is a feeling like no other, especially when it's you that built it from scratch. I was happier than I've ever been in my '77 when I dusted that other Camaro by almost 2 seconds in 660 feet. Don't underestimate your ride man, you've built a **** of a Camaro from bumper to bumper, so go to the local track and let it do what the were made to do, dust mustangs!! Don't get me wrong, I think you're makin good power, but the setup you have should make passes all night long without breakin anything. DU IT:D :D

i bought mine to drive, and i do , i drive it everyday , drag race it , done some autocross in it and do some "other" racing activities from time to time.why have 310hp if your not gonna let them run?

I agree, I bought mine to drive also...but if I tear it up at the track, without the funds to fix it again...there she'll sit. I've had this car for 4 years, and just got it on the road, whether or not it sees a track...I'm not sure. One thing is for sure, if it sits here waiting for new parts, I'll only be able to walk outside and look at it again...

I know where you are coming from for sure! Mine was built to run from the start, and I've had it together for awhile, so I feel comfortable running it. Maby after awhile you'll run it. I definatly understand tho!!!

Jim and I were both in our trucks at G11, with our ultra rare Camaros on the trailor behind us, keeping the miles off em.
