Thanks to "Algore" and his so called "GLOBAL WARMING" GM has decided to stop future RWD programs. "Algore" has convinced the EPA to raise the CAFE standards to where it is not practical to develope new RWD cars. Bob Lutz made the anouncement early this month. There is some good news. Mr.Lutz did say that the were to far along in the CAMARO program to stop it. So the CAMARO will be produced.:D As for chances for a new Firebird the are almost zero.

This will affect every manufacture Nick. GM is probaly looking long term.

now now lets be nice if it wasn't for gm you woudn't have that camaro that you adore so much. I agree that it sucks but hey what can we do.

That sux! I dont understand what global warming has to do with a rwd car but I dont pay very much attention to the news anymore. But at least the Camaro will be produced the RIGHT way!

You think with the technology the manufactors have, they could meet the requirements that are imposed each and every year. noting that that they do have a few years to refine the vehicles.

I just dont understand what is really going on with that whole thing. There has got to be something that the manufacturers can do to change and adapt to the new regulations or whatever! I guess Im just dumbfounded by this whole thing!
