OK..... I would like to take a little survey of all the LS1 guy's/gals out there relative to the make/part number of the oil filter they are using. I was using Delco Ultimate (UPF44) but they are hard to come by and I'm not sure if they are currently manufactured anymore.
Anyway.... which do you use? and why?........... thanks for your inputs!

napa gold/wix seem to have the best construction and this is a pretty good write-up of many filters and you actually get to see what they are made of

Have used AC filters forever, used Mobil 1 filters for the first time this year. Good read on the 300C site, thanks for posting it. Liked what I saw on the Napa and Wix brands. we use Wix filters on our tractors but have never even thought about use on the car.

A few years ago there was a good thread on oil filters on LS1tech.com...it rated their flow as well as their filtration capibilities....beleive it or not the Super Tech filter from Wal-Mart was better than about 98% of all brands of filters....I've been using them for the last 180,000 miles and have no complaints...I change the oil every 5,000-6,000 miles ... it has been Mobil One 10-40 high miles for the last 70,000 and 10-30 Mobile One before that and the engine uses 1/2 quart between oil changes ... that is the rate of oil consumption it has had it's whole life..it now has 201,000 + miles on it and still running strong ... I buy the Mobil One at Wally World too for $22.00 for a 5 quart container ... it used to be $18.00 up until a year ago ... I learned a long time ago that you can buy very good parts without spending a arm and a leg on them...case in point is that you pay alot for the media/advertising hype on a lot of parts which does not mean you are purchasing a better part...so shop around and make a informed puirchase ... :D

I have been using the K&N 2006. It is the truck filter and holds a little more oil. 6qts total.

They are not cheap but my baby is worth it.
