I found a 85 camaro for a real good price BUT its a v6. I have always had a v8 but this could be a good thing for me, especially the way gas prices are. But i want to know what ya'll think!!

You'd probibly come out better gettin it for a daily driver to keep stock. Put all your speed effort into a seperate camaro to just play with. A good dependable work ride will allow you to keep the money flowing for the toy. Gotta think long term these days, Cubic inch don't make the Camaro nice, it's the owners style. That way you always rep the club everytime you leave the house. :D

Thanx alot man! I just wasnt sure about the v6 thing. But I guess coming from someone who like to go fast, like me, it makes me feel a little better about the whole thing. Dont get me wrong though, I do like the car and the price, but I just wanted somebody elses opinion.

Bobby, Outlaw is right on. get the car for daily use. If you want to play you have to have toy just for playtime. High performance and daily driver don't go together.

Im starting to get that picture myself. I am getting closer to getting the 383 together but Im looking into a Procharger so Im on hold with my pistons until i decide what Im going to do. I am glad to see that it seems to be cool with everyone to get a v6 though!!:D

i roll in an 87 jeep cherokee classic 4wd with 31x10.50 at's. 4.0L st. 6.
With blistering 170 hp 20 yrs ago. more like around 120 now. had it 3 years and only floored it maby 3-4 times because i was up to the headlites in crab mud. Ain't any shame in driving stock when it frees up time AND MONEY for toys:o

I guess thats true but I just got home from looking at a 78 type LT camaro. It has a 307 and the motor looks awsome but the outside is a little worse for wear, but it runs and drives good plus he only wants $1600.

you'd enjoy putting together a "trimtag resto" alot once you gave it a shot. Meaning run the #'s and stick to them. I got alot of respect for something like a 78lt, 307 2bbl, olive green with puketooth interior & an 8 track if the tag says it's so. The TRUE car guy looks at the originality of the car it's self, not just the 350 Z28 tag. I wish I'd never cut mine or that's the way mine would be:D

This car is an LT with the original paperwork from the factory. It just has a radio but the cool thing is that it came with a factory EQ. But that car just needs some new sheet metal in spots and a few trim pieces but the motor looks like it just came off the showroom floor!

I really like the motor and the interior of the 78, and I like the idea of redoing an old car. The outside of the car is in rough shape but i like it better than the v6 car, i think.

have you run the #'s on the vin / trim tag yet? I've started getting into running #'s on camaros I've found. It gives you a good idea about how the car would turn out if you resto'd it to new specs. Not talkin frame-off, just a clean tag correct rebuild....(with a fogger plumbed under the intake) :D :D

Def a fogger under the intake!! But I dont know which one I want. Ive been thinking about driving the v6 until my black car is done and then when thats done I was thinking maybe a 400 with a nice shot of "gas"!!:D

Which ever you go with is a good choice. The 2nd gens won't be as avaliable 10yrs from now tho. Some circles are sayin they're "the next 1st gen" of the camaro craze. I just love the body lines and interoir setup in em....... :D

2nd gen Camaro prices are on the way up.1st gens have just about priced themselves out of reach of most real car lovers. So people are starting to turn to the 2nd gens. Even the rubber 2nd gens are becoming valuable. A 1979 Z28 just sold for $22,500 at Barrett-Jackson on Thursday. 1970,71,72,73 Z28,SS,RS cars will bring the most money. Even plain 2nd gens are going up in price.

I had a guy in Eatonton tell me, yesterday, that he had a 70 z28 with a split bumper frontend at his house, in the woods, that he would sell me for 1700! I think that is a good deal, its just too bad that I have to deal with this black car right now becuase I love that car!!:D

Drop a crate in it and sell it. You could put a nice, and fast 2nd gen together.

I woould love to do that but I HAVE to get this black car done before I take on another project. I think I can still get it after I get the black one done because the guy that has the car runs the track that i race at, so I might be able to get him to hold on to it for me! That would be BAD A$$!!!!

H A !! It is a good deal, if its an actual Z28. I would have to charge a finders fee, though!:D
