Good read; some of those however, were kind of no-brainers.

Thanks for sharing that Greg.. I learned quickly when I was shown how to detail, just how many of those covered were myths.. Some can even cause serious paint damage...

Interesting topic, I used Mequiars clay kit, cleaner wax, and followed up with a couple coats of Mequiars Tech Wax 2.0. The results came out pretty good for a non professional job. What are you guys/gals using for a good finish. Debated using a carnauba wax, but couldn't find one locally.

There's a rotation I follow:

1st wash with a very light soap solution of Dawn (to remove wax), rinse, clay bar, rinse, apply/remove Zymol, mist with water to set the wax, buff dry.

After that I use a car wash soap for the next few washes followed by Meguir's Mist and Wipe all over. When the Mist and Wipe doesn't seem to be doing the trick (after about the fourth wash for me), I start all over again with step one. This is just my little routine and I am by no means a detailer or "married" to a line of products. I aspire to learn how to properly use a buffer. :)
