I think I am going to sell or trade my 1970 camaro for a 4th Gen. camaro.
The more I look at them the more i want one. I love the Style of 98-2002 ss's and Z28's. If you know someone looking to trade there 4th Gen
for a 2ed Gen or wants to buy a 2ed Gen Please Let me know. The car has to be worth the trade though I am not looking for a rust bucket.

You can blame this on Greg ,and DC for making me fall in love with 4th gens :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I will add some pics in a replay to this thread with my email address.

Here is one I will be looking at this weekend

98 camaro Z28...auto, pacesetter longtube headers, custom 3" true dual exhaust with 2-12" dynomax bullets dumped before axle, no cat convertors, granatelli air lid with K&N filter, 3.73 gear, tuned with HP tuners, t-tops, SS hood and rear wing, new wheels and tires, 15x4 fronts with 165-80-15 tires, 15x8 rears with 275-50-15 MT drag radials, window tint, drilled and slotted rotors with hawk pads. all i know about the car so far.

what you think?

Oh boy... How much do u want for her? 4th gens are okay at best Glen. Please dont trade your 2nd gen for a 4th. You will regret the day for a VERY long time. I have a 4th and i want a 1st or 2nd. But i dont think i cold trade you my 4th because ill never part with my first car. Dont do something crazy like trade your car for something that cannot even compare.

I agree with John (gasp!! :p ). If you'd like a 4th gen, there are plenty of LT1 cars out there that are sound and can be had for a steal (under $5K). If you don't have the cash, that equates to around $100+/- a month for a 4yr term loan. Don't forget to check on insurance costs, might be different between the two gens.

BTW...If it's a six speed, it'll get better hwy mileage. LT1 cars are not always easy to work on in the engine bay, but they aren't that hard. Don't let the opti nay sayers scare you either. It's not a terrible design, just a bad location (front of the engine halfway under the water pump). Makes changing out the cap and rotor a relatively large undertaking so most common folks ignore it, costing them in the end.

Anyway...just a thought for the budget minded. ;)

Yeah I love 2ed Gens... The thing is I dont really have the 12-15k$ it would take me to get this car where i want it because my wife is in need or a new car soon to . so that means i will be spending 25-35K on a new-newer/used SUV.

With that said I would rather someone who had the time and cash to fix up my 2ed gen and make the best out of it. I would not sell it to a Kid or some one that i think would just dog it out.

Hey now...don't be hatin' on the minivans, lol!! :p

Honestly, with the price of gas escalating like to has been, that's why I'm back in one. 21 avg mpg so far and plush room for all. A used Tahoe of the same year/trim was gonna be a min of $10K more and a lot worse on avg mpg. Call me practical... :D

I would'nt do it if I were you. You will regret it dearly after 3-4 years when you see how much your 2nd gen will be worth and then look up what the 4th is worth. From what I see you have a real nice car although you may be getting tired of it you should really reconsider.

i don't know of you would be interested in a LT1 car , but , i have been seriously considering selling my Z28. it's White with a black top ,auto , has T-tops , power windows , power locks , power seats , power mirrors , Bose sound w/ sub-woofer, cloth , new brakes w/ slotted rotors and Hawks pads , tires have about 7K miles on them , no leaks ,recent tune-up w/wires , distributor is a Delco replacement with 1500 miles at most, limited slip rear diff. and 183K miles, but was has been babied it's whole life (adult female driven 90% of it's life). the doors close VERY easy and has 0 signs of any body twist. has no wind noise and a very very very small t-top leak (leaks a drop every 5 or 6 seconds in HEAVY down pours) it needs a right front wheel bearing (a little more play than i like), the A/C compressor locked up Tuesday ,the console lid is broken (like all f-bodies) ,and has a very very slight exhaust leak from the right manifold. i am going to replace the A/C compressor and wheel bearing next week. other than that it is a 13 yr old car and shows some scratches but no dings. my wife drove it as a daily driver for almost a yr and she loved it , but we needed more room for kiddes. i will sell it the way it sits (with a new compressor and wheel bearing) for $3600 or an interesting trade. i kniw it's not worth what your Camaro is worth so i wouldn't expect you to do or even consider an even trade. but if your looking to get into a real decent LT1 4th gen. for cheap , heres the car for you.

I may be interested in COPRUNR's Z, gotta check finances.

If my Z was running I might want to trade for Glen's car, but with a bad motor right now, it's not worth much.
