It fired right up today. I put 5 gallons of fresh 93 and dropped a little in the front of the carb and it fired. I did'nt even have to touch the gas. It did however get up to 2400 rpms. So Kenny, do I turn that screw clockwise or counter clockwise for the fast idle? I could'nt remember. I was going to back off the idle a little before I crank it again and try to make the adjustments. I got that tool you told me about so I should be able to monkey with it and the vacuum gauge I have. And guess what? It did'nt really smoke at start up and this car has been sitting for about two months.

With that high of a rpm I wanted to give it a turn before I start it up again. Tomorrow i'll let it run in the driveway for a while and heat up. Hopefully the temp gauge works now that I replaced the switch. I know the sender is working. 5 gallons is only a quarter tank. Thanks for the info Torval, i'll make that adjustment. If all goes well, next Saturday i'll take it to the paint shop.

Do you remember the screw I showed you before Jeff and I left your place? It's the one that's under the choke housing on the passenger side of the carb. Turn the screw counter clockwise about 2 turns before you fire it next time. With choke adj's you only have one chance a day to do it. When the engine fires, don't touch the gas, adj that screw to the desired rpm at startup (around 1200rpm ). Then when it warms up and comes off the choke, then you adj the screw at the throttle linkage for the cruise idle ( 750-800rpm ). If you need to call me I'll pm you my phone #. Glad you got it fired up.

Yep, I got it. I turned it one turn last night, i'll do it again today before I fire it up. Thanks for the rpm info, that saves me from having to look it up.
