As everyone knows the '77 needs new paint and bodywork. I bought a 5hp 13gal air compressor today and I am getting a couple of sanders and a die grinder this weekend. I've got a guy to paint it when I get the body done.
The new color is gonna be House of Color's " Cruise Night Metallic Blue " in base-clear.
1: Who makes good fitting patchpanels for the rear quarters on a 2nd gen?
2: Anyone know where I can get the header panel for a '74-'77?

I admire you for taking on the bodywork. I can never get it right. I either sand too much or not enough. That is why I will leave it up to the pro's. It helps that I dont need panel replacement and the car only has three dings. I cant wait to see it.

I just have bubbles on the rear lower panels behind the tires, could easily fix with some mud but I'd rather keep the mud to a minimum. Eastwood Bodywork Supply has the HOK paint for less than $100 for 3/4gal. The High Fill Primer and clear coat will each be around that also, so around $350 will get all the liquids and reducer. I'm not looking to get a show stopping paint job, just a fresh one. The blue is very close to the same shade of blue on it already, just with metallic and a base-clear style.

If it is just bubbles then I would replace the panels. Just grind it all down and if you can get to the back side and do the same. Then use a rust encaposr or rust bullet or por 15 on the back, then wipe it with a little mud to smooth it out. It may be easier for some to just weld in a new panel but for me that is the way I would do it.

If you mean the header panel between the headlights I have one. It's the original off my car and has a small crack in the fiberglass on the nose. Could be easily fixed and painted.

Yeah, that's it.Mine's cracked all the way across to the hood from the grill. I hit a deer on way to work a few years ago. It causes it to flex when I open the hood after I put new bumpstop rubbers under the hood.

The crack in my header panel is a little worse than I thought. It's not all the way thru, but close. I still think it could be repaired and used. You can check it out and see what you think, if it'll work its yours.
