Spotted a black '81 Z28 M4 on the way home that made me turn around in rushour winchester traffic. I talked to the owner. It's all original with 19000 miles. The car was ordered by a GM exect. It was black w silver Z stripes, special order silver w cloth inlays. By far the best looking Z I've ever seen. I gave him a card and told him about the meeting.

I like those cars with the silver interior. I'm starting to see more and more of these 78-81's come out. There is a all original one on ebay that needs restoration but it all there that looks like it could be a great deal. Brown metallic with camel interior. When this one of mine is done I may look for another.

The guy had every piece of paper work in existance on it, from dealer AND factory. He even had all the dealer service stickers in a baggie ( never put on the car, still has peeloff on em). It is a hardtop with the louver option on the rear glass. When I first looked at it I thought it was fresh paint, but turns out it's original. Bumper to bumper the car is exactly like it was born besides tires and battery, even still has all GM part-dated hoses , wires, etc.

Just my opinion.. but there is NO WAY that only has 30K+ miles on it!!! I'd stear clear of that one.. Also a Mass car.. odd there are no pix of the underside.. Looking at the engine bay I'd say the underside is eat up with rust.. I'd pay what it's at now and no more.. Do like the interior/exterior combo.. I'm partial though..lol..

The guy had flown to michigan and bought it off a collector, been in storage it's whole life, he also flew to florida and bought another '81Z the same week. It wasn't for sale. I'm constantly scanning yards, parking lots, etc for Camaros and I go back everytime I see a nice one to try and talk to the owner.

The guy I bought my Z off of is up in Gainesville, GA. He is a restorer of these cars 78-81 Z's 77-81 TA's. He told me he works for guy that has one of each year 78-81 in every color and all these cars are low mileage. He showed me some pictures and they were awesome. This guy is in South Florida somewhere. After a lot of research and some market trends I think these 78-81 Z's are going to start really clilmbing fast. That one at BJ this year brought 14 grand and some on ebay are getting more. Exciting times coming up. If you can find one under 3 grand and it is all there, snacth it up if you are even thinking of getting one.
