If it can be fixed then that's what I'd do. it's hard to find a car that you know is a good one.

If they do total it, there's some things to consider. Laws differ by states and how they handle titling rebuilt cars. Here's a link to GA DOR's requirements: What is needed to apply for a title for a vehicle that has been rebuilt or restored?

Also, check what your insurance companies stance is on insuring rebuilt cars. Some run liabilty only, a few won't touch them.

If it's just cosmetic, then hopefully they won't total it. :)

thanks every body i got in touch with the oter guys ins co today they told me to get a est done my body shop est $5826.12 so now im waiting on their adjuster to see what they gonna do they gonna put me in rental 2 marrow probley be a d** hyundai os somthing lol

No problem dude. :) I didn't know you were from AL so I would check to see what thier rebuild requirements are if that's what you decide when it all plays out. Hopefully they can fix it up right and get you back on the road soon!

Make sure you tell the insurance co.if they repair your car you want your check for deminished value. It is a fed.law and they have to pay you for it.shiftin They will not volunteer this info.:D

the adjuster came today said he was gonna total it but i tried to talk money with him he said he did not know the retail on my car if they base it on a presentage 75 i think then how the he** does he come up with that i showed him my kelley blue book report i printed it said $8670 he said they did not use kelly cause they jump the valu up i dont know but i see they trying to ram one in me so i talked to my ins they told me not to sign or agree to any thing cause they are gonna get involved any way yall wish me luck cause we probley gonna go to war over this they think im gonna just lay down and agree to some bullcrap offer they throwout they picked the wroung 1 i am one who loves appreciates and knows the value of a good CAMARO faintthud

Unfortunately, that is a correct. Edmunds TMV tends to lowball. The NADA value is probably the most accurate of them all. Did they mention what they were using? I took a few minutes and did a value at nadaguides.com and came up with this based on your posts (99Z, 140K mis, gave you TTops and leather cuz I didn't know)Looks like KBB is giving you a bit more than Nada high retail.

If your insurance company can't justify a.) a higher retail or b.) a lower repair estimate, then there's really not much for them. Personally, I didn't think a 99's value had gone down so much. :( I'm pulling for you, let us know what happens.

When it comes to diminished value, most companys want pay this if the car has over 100,000 miles.

I dont envy you having to deal with this. A problem not of your making, but you are the one who will have to spend your time working it out. I hope it all turns out in your favor.

My opinion find a lawyer( I know they are bottom feeders) but a first consultation is usually free.Then when the adjuster ( or ins co ) gets back with you tell them they need to contact your lawyer. That usually gets them thinkin. Our client hit him from behind??? HMMMMMM. Best of luck to you man!!!

hey every 1 still fightin with insurance there adjuster called with a bull crap offer 4075 and i keep the car 5300 and they take it needles to say he got a cusinn that was his second and he said final offer the first1 was 1oo hundred less so i turned it over to my ins co i hope they act right ive been with them 4 about 15 yrs:eek:

what ins company does the at fault driver have? Usually you can make a claim in your ins and they will give you a little more cause all they will do is go after the other company. That might be a way but then you have the deductible to deal with and the claim strike against you but should go way once they settle with the other company. Sorry you have to go thru this. I've never had a car totalled so I dont know how you feel.
