After nearly 15 years the ZR1 nameplate is back. Said to be the quickest corvette is history. It will pack a 6.2 liter V8 LS9. New Eaton four-lobe roots-type supercharger will power the beast. Putting it around 620 hp. Close ratio M6 allows 65 mph in first gear! I'm glad to see the ZR1 back, but I wish it was a All-Motor car for true bragging rights!!

S/C FTW im not worried about bragging rights. I hate that the camaros cant be FI easily. Thats something the SVT Cobra boys have that i envy a lot.

I think they did a ZR1 cause the new Camaro might possibly have a trim option with a Z06 engine dropped in it down the road (ZL1?). The ZR1 cures the Vette "benchmark" issue while allowing room for the new Camaro market options. ;)

If they make a ZL1 Camaro, i'd have to say itll most likely be a GMMG job or something. There may be a 500 hp Camaro there is a lot of talk about that, but i dont think they will call it a ZL1 and itll be nowhere near as fast as the ZO6. The new Camaro is very heavy.
I also dont think the ZR1 will be around long. I think i read that GM said itll be kind of a limited run car much like the Ford GT.

Not trying to be a scrooge or anything lol i think the ZR1 is great.

John your Military, I know you know the phrase" hurry up and wait"!!!!

And "Stand in line..." :p J/K ;)

Just reiterating what I've seen in the rags as far as the 5th gen. The ZR1 Vette will def be a limited production. Not many people woould ponyup for that price otherwise.

The very 1st ZR1 made for consumer sale went across the block last night on Barrett / Jackson. Jay Leno was there speaking about it. The VIN # was 0001. The guy that bought the '63 vette, #0003, also won it for 1,000,000! The blue paint in the pics is Leman Blue and that's the Only ZR1 that's gonna wear it. The guy from GM said that the paint cost is $60,000 a gallon on it!!!

Ressler is pretty loaded and when it comes to Vettes he is one of the top men. The owner of Pro-Team was there but that was a little to rich for his blood. Plus, I think it was probably agreed upon umongst the whales there that the ZR1 was his. Ron Pratte could have swooped that car up in a minute from Ressler if he wanted too. I dont think there was anyone there has deeper pockets than Ron Pratte. It is a amazing car. And I cant wait to see what the dealers premium will be. Some were saying $100k for the car and a $75k premium. I think they were doing a $30k premuim on the ZO6. Insane. But then again it is a supercar. And like Leno said you can beat these cars and keep going. They are the most reliable of the supercars.

It is a remarkable looking car. It has all the right touches. It may be the last of the american supercars.
